Steve Johnson – Financial Advisor / Swap Advisor

Steve is an experienced, knowledgeable Financial Advisor and Swap Advisor who is enthusiastic about helping institutions that do so much good for their communities and the world – once an Eagle Scout, always an Eagle Scout. With two engineering degrees and a Wharton MBA, running cash flow analyses and grasping the implications of yield curve shifts on swap valuations come naturally.

Prior to starting SJ Advisors, Steve presented analysis and insights as a consultant with Bain & Company and in Finance with Target Corporation. Prior to that he worked on international projects as an Air Force Officer and as an expat in India for the private sector. This diverse experience helped him develop flexibility, a respect for other cultures, and an everlasting appreciation for the privilege of living in this country.

Steve lives in a suburb of Minneapolis. When not juggling spreadsheets and bond documents, he is on the go with his family – serving as Scoutmaster to his sons’ BSA troop, volunteering for high school alpine ski racing events, and pursuing a fourth degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. He strongly encourages his daughter and three sons to take golf lessons so they can avoid his current lot as a scramble only player.
